DIP had been parading with STC Foundation and spreading the message of “Health, Love, and Wisdom” all over Southern California. The cities we visited include La Puente, Whittier, and Los Angeles. To catch the next DIP parade in action, come join us at Disneyland (Anaheim) for the Lunar New Year Celebration. For more information on the Disney Lunar New Year Celebration, check out the official press release here.
Los Angeles – In the city of Los Angeles, we joined hand with the Compton Jr. Posse and marched in the Kingdom Parade 2016. It was especially significant as our two groups with diverse cultural background came together to celebrate the birth of Martin Luther King Jr.
Whittier – In the city of Whittier, the Holiday Parade has 60+ years of history. The parade is also part of a week long celebration that the city put up for its community members.
La Puente – In the city of La Puente, DIP and STC Foundation debuted our own electric parade. STC foundation and DIP members put in a lot of hours and hard work into the electric float. Theirs efforts paid off as the crowds were mesmerized by the glistening display.
Happy New Years everyone ! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season with your friends and families.
Tuition Late Fee Implementation – As of January 2016, we will be applying a late fee for tuition turned in later than the second Sunday of each month. For this month, we will make an exception and extend out to the third Sunday since we are just announcing this change. More detail is in the second attachment. We will also be available to answer any questions this Sunday.
Tuition Envelopes Replacement – We will no longer be providing Tuition envelopes. At least three days before the tuition is due each month, our Treasurer Jonathan Lau will be emailing each family an invoice of the outstanding balance. Please make sure you provide the latest email to us to avoid any late fees. Include your child’s name on the check and turn in all tuition to Jonathan Lau in between classes.
For more information regarding tuition update and class reassignment please review the TUITION page.

On Sunday November 8th, 2015, DIP and STC attended the KidsFest Expo 2015 in Arcadia, California. This was an expo specifically for children, and we were happy to have the rare opportunity to perform for our younger audiences. It was a wonderful treat for us to be able to interact with them, and to also watch other young performers take the stage. We performed “the New Voice of Aborigine,” “the Baby Lion Dance,” “Sweet Miao Girls,” and “Shake it Off.” While all of our studio children shined like little stars, our MVP for the performance was Ariana Chang, who performed in 3 dances (back to back). Great job kids! 🙂
Our children shared the stage with a magician, singers, other dancers, and we even were able to see some celebrities! We had the good fortune to meet the stars of ABC’s hit show “Fresh off the Boat.” Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler, and Ian Chen (Eddie, Emery, and Evan Huang respectively) were there with their band “Fresh on the Beat,” playing their own rendition of “Thinking out Loud” complete with bass, drums, and lead vocals. Who knew that, in addition to starring in their own hit show, these stars also have their own band. It’s great to see such talented young people, role models for our new generation.
There were also vendors, food trucks, but more importantly, booths with toys and games that the children enjoyed. Our DIP studio children had a blast playing the fishing games, interactive learning games, and best of all the moon bounces! The KidsFest 2015 event was created and hosted by la Ja Ja (pronounced ja-ja) Kids, an organization “founded in 2010 in Southern California by two moms sharing one belief that parenting can be simple –- by creating an enriched family and social environment, children can blossom like flowers in spring.” More information can be found at their website. Thank you, la Ja Ja Kids for inviting us to be a part of such a fun and inspiring event!
